Tweetinvi and visual studio express

Dec 19, 2014 at 7:22 PM
I seem to have lots of trouble opening the source in visual studio 2013 express.

I have tried versions:
  • Windows desktop
  • Web
But each time it reports "Visual studio cannot open this project type" (or something similar)

Does the source only work in the paid version of Vis studio? Or am I don't something wrong

Thanks

ok, so from viewing the sln file in a text editor, I see the version is vs2012, with a minimal set of .net4 which should make it vs2010 compatible if I am not mistaken. Yet still errors with 2010 express desktop and 2013 web/desktop express versions

If it just doesn't work in express, can someone just say so I don't keep trying something that won't work

Could it be something to do with autofac?
Autofac is an addictive Inversion of Control container for .NET 4.5, Silverlight 5, Windows Store apps, and Windows Phone 8 apps.
So does this imply tweetinvi requires the windows store version of visual studio?

I have experience the same issue with Visual Studio 2013 Express for desktop
and all projects could not be opened but the projects are shown like "Tweetinvi(imcompatible)" in solution explorer.

And I installed VS community edition and It allows me to open all of projects.
Now I can open projects and those are shown like "Tweetinvi(Portable)" !

Never heard of community edition,I will check it out, many thanks

I finally got round to installing Windows8 yesterday and installed VS Express 2013 Windows store version and was able to open the programs, but Windows8 was a big of a shock to say the least!

So if can get community edition working on Windows 7 I Will never have to load win8 again, which will be a good thing
