Send a follow request

Jul 30, 2015 at 8:04 PM
Hello,

working in a Twitter app someone asked me the following:

I can send a direct message to someone, but only if the person is following you. If the person is not following you, you should send him a "follow request" so that person follows you and then, you can send them the direct message.

It's possible to do this (something in the Tweetinvi API that do the same as if I go to Twitter and click on the "follow" button of someone I don't follow yet, so I can open the direct message communication channel? (If not, please tell me why).

This is considering you can't establish direct message with someone who doesn't follow you, unless they have a very particular option of their account configured (Recieve direct message from people I don't follow).
Thanks.

Thank you for your understanding.

I did not realized I sent this on the discussion, I thought I sent this to you by email directly.

Anyway. You are totally right, for some reason I changed the way to create friendship with other users and I forgot to add it to a static method.
At the current time there are only 2 ways to add a user as a friend.
// From a LoggedUser
var me = User.GetLoggedUser();
var success = me.FollowUser("my_new_friend_name");

// From the FriendshipController
var success = Friendship.FriendshipController.CreateFriendshipWith("my_new_friend_name");
I will try to improve this in the next release.
Work Item.
